While Sweet Rocket is famous for its purple summer flowers, the dried seed heads are a secret favourite of natural florists. As the season turns, the flowers give way to long, slender seed pods on tall, branching stems.
Dried to a natural shade of pale green and straw-gold, these stems are the definition of "meadow style." 🌿 What are these stems?
These are the mature seed stems of Hesperis matronalis. We harvest them late in the season when the long, thin seed pods (siliques) have formed and the stems have turned woody.
The Look: Think of them as "architectural wire." They aren't about colourful petals; they are about shape, line, and silhouette.

Hesperis adds a wild touch to any setting:
