What seeds does Norman & Vera stock?

We carry a curated range of certified organic vegetable and herb seeds from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage range, produced in partnership with Seed Revolution. Varieties run from quick salad crops like radish and spring onion to winter staples like cavolo nero kale.

How do I choose which vegetable seeds to grow?

Start from your space and your patience: fast, forgiving crops like radish and spring onions for pots and gaps, peas and beans if you have open ground, and kale or chard if you want picking through autumn and winter. Every packet shows its sowing and harvest months on the back.

When should I sow vegetable seeds in the UK?

Sowing months vary by crop, and every packet we stock carries its own month-by-month calendar. Across the current range, sowings run from February through to September, and broad beans can also go in during October and November for an early start.

Are all your seeds organic?

Yes, every seed variety we currently stock is certified organic by OF&G (Organic Farmers & Growers), with the certification printed on the packet.

Do you deliver seeds across the UK?

Yes, we deliver UK-wide, including the Highlands and Islands. Seed packets post flat, so they travel well.

Seeds

A seed rack should be a set of good decisions, not a wall of choices. Ours is small on purpose: organic vegetable seeds and herb seeds picked by our founder, horticulturist David Hurrion, starting with the varieties a UK kitchen garden actually leans on. Every packet we stock is certified organic and carries its own sowing and harvest calendar on the back.

The rack opens with the staples from the River Cottage x Seed Revolution partnership. There are quick growers for impatient plots, French Breakfast radish is pulled in about six weeks, and slow rewards like Nero di Toscana kale, sown in late spring and picked right through winter. Peas, broad beans, carrots, chard and spring onions cover the veg bed, while Sweet Genovese basil and Moss Curled parsley look after the herb pots.
