Dried Achillea 'Ballerina' Bunch

If you love the airy, romantic look of Gypsophila (Baby's Breath) but hate how brittle and messy it becomes when dried, Achillea 'Ballerina' is the solution. Unlike standard flat Yarrow, this variety produces sprays of fully double, ruffled white flowers that look like tiny marshmallows or popcorn.

Dried to a beautiful shade of antique ivory-cream, it provides a "frothy" texture that softens the edges of any arrangement. It is incredibly durable, making it the perfect filler for autumn wreaths, buttonholes, and vintage-style bouquets where you need volume and lightness without the shedding.

🌿 About these Stems

These are the air-dried stems of Achillea ptarmica 'Ballerina'.

The "Double" Flower: 'Ballerina' is a superior variety selected for its fully double flowers. This means more petals per flower head, creating a denser, whiter, and fluffier look than wild Sneezewort.

🎨 Styling Ideas

Achillea 'Ballerina' is the ultimate neutral mixer:

  • The Wedding Filler: Use it exactly as you would Gypsophila. It fills the gaps between larger flowers (like Dried Roses or Peonies) and adds an airy, romantic feel.
  • Winter Wreaths: Because the stems are branched, you can cut them down into smaller pieces to tuck into moss wreaths. The little white buttons look like snow against pine or fir foliage.
  • Buttonholes: It is tough enough to withstand being pinned to a lapel without crumbling or drooping.

Perfect Dried Companions

Create a beautiful meadow look by pairing 'Ballerina' with contrasting textures:

  • 💜 Dried Lavender: The Classic Duo. White buttons and purple spikes are a timeless combination. The scent of the lavender adds another dimension to the display.
  • 🌾 Dried Oats (Avena): The Harvest Look. The golden, hanging seed heads of oats mix perfectly with the creamy Achillea for a relaxed, farmhouse kitchen aesthetic.

⚠️ Colour Note
Please remember that naturally dried white flowers are rarely "paper white." They dry to a lovely vintage cream or parchment shade, which blends much better with other dried stems than bright artificial white.
