Few shrubs offer such cheerful spring colour as this compact Spiraea japonica 'Golden Princess'. Its young leaves emerge with a warm bronze flush, quickly turning a vivid golden yellow that lights up borders and paths.
The foliage alone is a spectacle, but come late summer, flattened heads of rosy-pink flowers appear, floating just above the leaves like confetti. This long season of interest, from early leaf to late bloom, makes it a favourite in cottage gardens and mixed borders. It’s especially effective when paired with purple-leaved heuchera, lavender, bergenia, blue-flowered forms of pulmonaria or ceratostigma.
- Full sun or light shade; best colour in bright conditions
- Moist but well-drained; tolerant of most types including clay
- Cut back after flowering to maintain shape and vigour, or prune hard to ground level in late winter to optimise new spring foliage colour, but forego flowers.
- Flowers attract bees and butterflies in late summer

If you wish to cancel your order you must return the items back to us within 14 days of the cancellation. We regret that items received after this time will be refused and sent back to you.
You are responsible for the safe return of products to us, including the cost of doing so. It is recommended that you insure your return parcel in case of loss or damage.
