Insect Boxes

Adding insect boxes to your garden is one of the simplest ways to encourage a healthy, self-regulating ecosystem. Many of the insects we rely on to keep pests in check – like ladybirds and lacewings – need safe places to shelter, overwinter, and breed. Give them that support and they’ll repay you by patrolling your plants for problem species, especially aphids, which can quickly weaken new growth and spread disease.

An insect box acts like a small wildlife hotel, offering dry, protected nooks away from heavy rain, wind and hungry birds. Position one in a sunny, sheltered spot near flowers and pest-prone plants, and you’ll be creating a base for nature’s own pest control team.

Over time, you’ll often notice fewer outbreaks, less need for intervention, and a garden that feels more alive – full of quiet, useful activity that benefits everything from roses to veg beds.
